BLAIR FRENCH

You may have heard of him through his work scoring the award-winning documentary Detropia, or you may have heard of him as Dial.81 on Paul Randolph's newest Mahogani Music compilation, or you may have heard of him as a part of Cosmic Handshakes or Nois Land with Todd Modes, or maybe with Eddie Logix as BLKSHRK. Maybe the introduction isn't fully necessary after all.

French is something of a musical chameleon. Over the years, he’s been a member of numerous musical collectives (Cosmic Handshakes, Nois Land, BLKSHRK), established his own well-regarded DIY record label Fat Finger Cosmic, and delivered material on imprints including Claremont 56, Rocksteady Disco, Delsin, and M1 Sessions.

The Detroit based musician, producer and graphic designer is also notoriously difficult to pin down. Trawl through his releases and you’ll come across blissful ambient, experimental hip-hop, skewed techno, hazy deep house, beach-friendly Balearica, and neo-classical.
